Young Rembrandts classes bring fresh, exciting projects like a globetrotting koala, a video game-inspired still life, and a goofy nutcracker. We’re also bringing characters to life: kids will draw silly food faces and even an action-packed basketball series for sports fans. Jazz Band 8 - Tuesdays: Jazz Band 8 plays jazz music styles that range from rock to swing. All band instruments are welcome to play, and students must be enrolled in Westwood’s 8th grade curricular band program to participate. In addition to instruments within the band, those that study guitar, bass, and piano are welcome to join. Jazz Band 7 - Thursdays: Jazz Band 7 plays jazz music styles that range from rock to swing. All instruments are welcome to play, but participants must be in Westwood’s Band program to participate. In addition to instruments within the band, those that study guitar and piano are welcome to join. Drumline 7/8 - Mondays: 7/8 Drumline focuses on snare drum rudiments, and gradually moves to marching snare, bass, and toms. Any student currently enrolled in Westwood’s curricular band program is welcome to participate. No prior percussion experience is required to join. Performances are based on student interest. Jazz Band 6 - TBD - starts January 2025 Jazz Band 6 plays jazz music styles that range from rock to swing. All band instruments are welcome to play, and students must be enrolled in Westwood’s 6th grade curricular band program to participate. In addition to instruments within the band, those that study guitar, bass, and piano are welcome to join. Jazz Band and Drumline will all end in May with the Jazz Cafe at Westwood!

Safeway offers teen driver's education in cooperation with Spring Lake Park Schools Community Education. Driver's education classes will be offered in person at Spring Lake Park High School (SLPHS). Teen Package: 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training Classes take place at SLPHS Classes are after school 3:15 - 6:15 pm Classes offered each month for 10 consecutive days (Mondays - Thursdays, class does not meet on Fridays) Student must be present for the entire class and attend all 10 classes to get their blue card (allows student to take permit test at a DMV location) Pricing for Teen Package: $415 full price (payment plan available) Payment plan consists of: $235 due when registering for the class through Spring Lake Park Schools Community Education $90 payable at the first behind-the-wheel lesson* $90 payable at the second behind-the-wheel lesson* *Cash or check payable to Safeway Driving School.
