For students entering grades 5-12 in fall 2018.  Students entering grades 5-8 and 9-12 are invited to join us for an exciting new adventure at Spring Lake Park! Speech is an opportunity to practice speaking and acting skills, improve self-confidence, become a leader, and compete against other speakers.During camp in July students will learn about the 13 different speech categories. Two of the broad categories are interpretive speech and public address. Interpretive speech involves using the students’ dramatic or creative skills to show a different side of their chosen material. Public address allows students to explore policy and give their own opinions on matters that are important to them. Spring Lake Park started a new speech team 2017-2018. All team members and friends are invited to come and find a speech for next year, work on basics, try a new category, and have fun!All 13 speech categories will be covered at the camp including Creative Expression, Discussion, Duo Interpretation, Extemporaneous Reading, Extemporaneous Speaking, Great Speeches, Humorous Interpretation, Informative Speaking, Original Oratory, Poetry, Prose, Serious Drama and Storytelling. On Friday after camp we will join the Theater Camp in a performance!
