  • Curling Team 25-26 Gr 6-12

    Welcome to the 25-26 season of the Spring Lake Park Schools Curling Club. The club’s goals are to expose students to and develop skills for this lifelong sport. We will work to instill integrity and sportsmanship through a sport that relies on both in order to be successful. Who: Any SLP Student in grades 6 -12 may join. No prior experience necessary! What: Curling is an Olympic sport! The sport of curling consists of four team members working together in different ways to accurately place curling rocks or “stones” on a sheet of ice 150 feet long! All team members are constantly involved whether you are “throwing,” “sweeping,” or “skipping.” The play is usually not fast-paced, and there is always an opportunity to socialize and have a great time on or off the ice. Where: Four Seasons Curling Club, 9250 Lincoln St NE, Blaine, MN 55434. We will have bussing for students after school to the curling club. Cost: Instruction/game play, all equipment needed to curl, bussing to the arena, and coaching staff $200 Standard rate Practice Schedule: Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3-5 pm Location: Four Seasons Curling Club in Fogerty Arena, Blaine, MN Note: The Curling Club is located on the South side of the building NOTE: Bussing is provided after school from Westwood and SLPHS to the Club
  • Drivers Education with Safeway Driving School (Gr 9-12) 25-26

    Safeway offers teen driver's education in cooperation with Spring Lake Park Schools Community Education. Driver's education classes will be offered in person at Spring Lake Park High School (SLPHS). Teen Package: 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training Classes take place at SLPHS Classes are after school 3:15 - 6:15 pm Classes offered each month for 10 consecutive days (Mondays - Thursdays, class does not meet on Fridays) Student must be present for the entire class and attend all 10 classes to get their blue card (allows student to take permit test at a DMV location) Pricing for Teen Package: $415 full price (payment plan available) Payment plan consists of: $235 due when registering for the class through Spring Lake Park Schools Community Education $90 payable at the first behind-the-wheel lesson* $90 payable at the second behind-the-wheel lesson* *Cash or check payable to Safeway Driving School.   • SLP Fishing Team 2025-26

    If you enjoy competitive Bass fishing, come learn and compete with us! This is a Bassmaster and SATT (Student Angler Tournament Trail) affiliated program for high school students entering grades 9-12 in spring 2026. Classroom education starts in Jan 2026, meeting every other Tuesday, classroom education attendance is required to fish any tournaments. Tournaments start in June 2026; the last tournament is in Sept 2026. Bassnation: 1 Fish-In 3 Conference Tournaments, State Tournament SATT: Up to 7 tournaments, Anglers choice Student Angler Org / Virtual Lund Series: Up to 6 tournaments, Anglers choice Non-Tournament Participants – Sign up and receive the benefit of all the education without the tournament participation. This is open to any student in the district in grades 7-12. Tournament Participants – Anglers will need to have their own rods, reels, tackle, boat and a Captain over 18 years of age. You will be required to hold an annual Bassmaster’s youth membership and/or TBF Membership for SATT. You are expected to attend all education to be tournament eligible. *Continuing in 2026- We be offering Student Angler Org / Virtual Lund Series. __________________________________________ Options For Participation/Fees Registration & Payment is due January 27 Team Registration for All: Register with Community Education with $20 fee Additional Fees Bassnation Fee: $300: includes jersey/hat, Bassnation tournament fees, SATT and S.R.O. membership.     SLPHS and SLP Community Ed are proud to partner in the support of private music lessons. Lessons are $30 per half an hour, offered by the month in a "pack" of lessons payable in one fee. All lessons will be held in the SLPHS Music Suite. Financial support is available for students who qualify for Educational Benefits. Donate a lesson here Instructor: Chris Allen is a musician and educator based in White Bear Lake, MN. Primarily playing bass and tenor trombones, but also alto trombone, euphonium, and tuba on occasion. He currently performs regularly with The Paper Clips, Mankato Symphony, Century Jazz Ensemble, and Star of the North Jazz Orchestra. Chris holds an undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College where he studied with Scott Moore and Larry Zimmerman, and studied at the graduate level at the University of Minnesota with Thomas Ashworth. He has taken additional lessons with Andy Chappell (MN Orch), Douglas Wright (MN Orch), Achilles Liarmakopoulos (Canadian Brass), Michael Levine (Dallas Brass), and Henry Charles Smith III. Schedule: Please select which open lesson schedule you would like. If there are conflicts due to illness, other band commitments, etc. please work with Chris Allen/Ross Wolf on schedule adjustments after registering. Refunds will not be given for missed lessons at this time, so please work with the instructor to reschedule another lesson. She currently serves as a band lesson teacher in the Mounds View Public Schools and has previously taught general music, band, and orchestra in the Roseville Area and Brooklyn Center school districts. Alexandra graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education. She is passionate about fostering lifelong musicianship, community, and belonging through accessible and joyful music-making experiences.     Dynamic Offensive Futbol (DOF) brings its high-energy futsal program to Spring Lake Park Schools for students in Grades 1–7. Led by licensed DOF coaches, this program is designed for all experience levels — from beginners learning the basics to soccer players looking to sharpen their game. Players develop foot skills, movement, and confidence through fun, fast-paced futsal games that emphasize teamwork, creativity, and decision-making. Whether your child is new to soccer or already plays on a team, this program provides a positive and encouraging environment where every player can learn, improve, and love the game.
  • Studio Art Club: Creative Exploration

    Calling all young artists! Studio Art Club is an open-format art experience where intermediate and middle school students can explore their creativity on their own terms. Each week, students will have access to a wide variety of art materials and techniques to work on projects of their choice - whether that's painting, drawing, sculpting, crafting, or experimenting with mixed media. This is a low-pressure, high-creativity space where students can: Work on personal art projects at their own pace Learn new techniques and try different materials Get guidance and support from Ms. Cuddie Collaborate with fellow artists or work independently Build their artistic confidence and skills Perfect for students who love art and want more time to create! All skill levels welcome - from beginners to experienced artists. What to bring: Just yourself & your creativity! Art Supplies will be provided.   • Westwood - OST Music - Jazz Band/Drumline

    Jazz Band 8 - Tuesdays: Jazz Band 8 plays jazz music styles that range from rock to swing. All band instruments are welcome to play, and students must be enrolled in Westwood’s 8th grade curricular band program to participate. In addition to instruments within the band, those that study guitar, bass, and piano are welcome to join. Jazz Band 7 - Thursdays: Jazz Band 7 plays jazz music styles that range from rock to swing. All instruments are welcome to play, but participants must be in Westwood’s Band program to participate. In addition to instruments within the band, those that study guitar and piano are welcome to join. Drumline 7/8 - Mondays: 7/8 Drumline focuses on snare drum rudiments, and gradually moves to marching snare, bass, and toms. Any student currently enrolled in Westwood’s curricular band program is welcome to participate. No prior percussion experience is required to join. Performances are based on student interest. Jazz Band 6 - TBD - starts January 2025 Jazz Band 6 plays jazz music styles that range from rock to swing. All band instruments are welcome to play, and students must be enrolled in Westwood’s 6th grade curricular band program to participate. In addition to instruments within the band, those that study guitar, bass, and piano are welcome to join. Jazz Band and Drumline will all end in May with the Jazz Cafe at Westwood!

    Students can stay after school and participate in a variety of activities. Clubs are student-led, staff will be available to supervise the space and provide simple materials.     Conservation Crew is a student-led extracurricular school program for middle schoolers. Rooted in service learning, students develop leadership skills by designing and implementing conservation projects to impact their schools and communities. The program provides the support and resources students need to succeed.
  • Westwood Intramurals - Multi-Sports Gr 5-8

    Join us after-school in the MS gyms for some fun and games. In this open-gym program, participants will choose 1-2 sports per day, including soccer, basketball, football, etc.

  • Winter Baseball Academy Gr 5-8

    Spring Lake Park Baseball's Winter Academy, led by SLPHS head coach Codey Miller, is a comprehensive training program designed to maintain and improve players' skills during the off-season. Open to grades 5-8 and all skill levels, the academy emphasizes core baseball techniques like hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running. With personalized coaching from Coach Miller and his staff, players can focus on refining their strengths while addressing areas for improvement. It’s a perfect way to stay sharp and gear up for the spring season.
  • Winter Intermediate Dance Team

    Come join the Junior Pantherettes program! This team will get a taste of what it's like to dance in high school on the Spring Lake Park Dance Team. All experiences levels and genders are welcome to join, no tryouts. Dancers will spend their season learning a competition routine, technique and conditioning all while having fun together.
