  • Project Runway with Youth Enrichment League Gr 4-8

    Join this class where students learn to design, measure, cut, sew, modify, make and take home their very own sewing projects. No experience necessary. All students make their own projects lead by a qualified sewing instructor. Students will learn hand-sewing and machine-sewing techniques during this summer day camp.

    Join fellow members of the Spring Lake Park Area community each month at the SLP Schools District Services Center for a delightful morning of Community, Coffee, and Conversations! Enjoy provided refreshments and engaging activities. Each month brings a unique theme, speaker, or a conversation with a community leader/expert. The SLP District Technology Services team will be available to help answer all your tech related questions, as well as inform you about various cyber-security tips. June 3rd, 9am-10:30am --Anoka County Historical Society: A representative of the ACHS will join us, along with some artifacts, to talk a little bit about history as well as what the ACHS is all about!
  • SLP Family Ice Skating at NSC

    Join us at the National Sports Center for some on-ice family fun! This is a free program designed for beginning skaters and their families. Skate rentals will be available on site for $3/pair. Please register every adult and child that will be attending. All children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Ice time is from 4:30pm-5:30pm. If you need to rent skates, please plan to arrive early.

All lessons will be held in the SLPHS Music Suite. Financial support is available for students who qualify for Educational Benefits. Trimester 3 Flute Lessons: Instructor Heather Samuelson- Heather has a degree from Concordia College, Moorhead. She went to Concordia on a flute performance scholarship, performing with the Concordia Band, Jazz Band and Flute Choir. Her love of playing continues as she performs with the North Suburban Concert Band, Centennial Community Band and plays at church. With 10 years of teaching experience, she’s excited to share her passion and love of music, help students grow in their musical skills and strengthen their playing for band and music auditions.. Trimester 3 Low Brass Lessons: Instructor: Chris Allen is a musician and educator based in White Bear Lake, MN. Primarily playing bass and tenor trombones, but also alto trombone, euphonium, and tuba on occasion. He currently performs regularly with The Paper Clips, Mankato Symphony, Century Jazz Ensemble, and Star of the North Jazz Orchestra. Chris holds an undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College where he studied with Scott Moore and Larry Zimmerman, and studied at the graduate level at the University of Minnesota with Thomas Ashworth. He has taken additional lessons with Andy Chappell (MN Orch), Douglas Wright (MN Orch), Achilles Liarmakopoulos (Canadian Brass), Michael Levine (Dallas Brass), and Henry Charles Smith III. Trimester 3 Trumpet Lessons: Instructor: Leighton Tuenge is a professional freelance trumpet player who performs all types of music around the Twin Cities area, including jazz, classical music and pop music. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in 2022 majoring in music liberal arts and has a certificate in audio recording. Since then, he has played in cover bands such as Inafunk and High and Mighty, been involved in multiple theater shows and performs with his own original jazz trio. Outside of music, he enjoys coffee and outdoors. He teaches all levels of trumpet players and is excited to be working with Spring Lake Park!   • SLPHS Student Parking Permit SY 2023-2024

    Parking Permits for Annual or Trimester in the SLPHS Student Parking Lot Student must possess a valid drivers license Students parking in the student lot must purchase either an Annual permit or a current Trimester permit in order to park in the SLPHS student parking lot as of September 5, 2023 If purchasing a Trimester permit, a student must purchase a permit for each trimester that they will be parking in the student parking lot. For instance the student will only drive winter and spring, they will need to purchase one for winter and then go online and purchase a spring permit Student parking lot permits are available as follows: Annual permit - $140 / student vehicle Trimester permit - $50 / student vehicle Student must go online and register their vehicle and pay online with Visa, MC, American Express or Discover, ACH checking or savings account Permits may be picked up at the HS main office beginning Monday, August 14 from 8 am - 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday. (Office will be closed on Friday, September 1 and Monday, September 4) Students must show a printed receipt of their parking permit transaction or be able to show it on their mobile device PSEO students who attend class on-site for 3 hours or less can pay a reduced fee - verification documentation will need to be provided when picking up permit. OEC students from outside SLP district who have purchased a parking permit from home district can pick up a permit at no charge providing purchase validation, otherwise student may purchase an SLP permit at a reduced fee.   • STEM Workshops with STEM Builders Gr 1-8

    Drones July 8-12 - 1-3 pm - Grades 5-8 - Droneblocks allows students to watch their code come to life as they program their own drone! Students learn how to control their drones through code to perform a series of stunts. Students fly drones in both virtual and live. Students master skills with their own challenges which will include aerial stunts and a student made obstacle course. LEGO Robotics - First LEGO League - Aug 12-16 - 1-3 pm Grades 5-8 First Lego League is for students grades 5-8th who engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering - building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. This camp will prepare new and returning participants to build a robot, and compete in an exciting, mission-based robotics game.

  • Separating

    Time with your child in the classroom and also time with other parents and the family educator talking about topics of common interest.   Some parent discussion and all resources will be available on Schoology this year. Only parent per family per class at this time.
  • Spanish Immersion Summer Academy- Grades 1-6

    Students will practice their Spanish language skills through a variety of activities including: arts, STEM, sports, cultural, music, games, etc. This summer academy will be led by SLP Woodcrest Spanish Immersion teachers.This academy is intended for students who are currently enrolled in the SLP Spanish Immersion program and want a chance to practice and maintain their language skills over the summer. Camp will run from 8:00am-12:00pm Monday through Friday at Woodcrest Elementary. Students may sign up for either or both weeks of academy. Please make sure to register for each week separately if you would like to sign your child up for both weeks. Note for Learning Ventures Families:If your student is also in Learning Ventures the week of Spanish Immersion Summer Academy, we can shuttle students back to the High School for P.M. Learning Ventures care. You will receive a partial credit back on your Learning Ventures account for days that your child is enrolled in both Spanish Camp and Learning Ventures. Please indicate in the registration form whether or not your child needs to be transported to the High School for P.M. Learning Ventures.
  • Strength and Speed Camp Gr 6-12

    Panther Strength & Speed Camp PANTHER WEIGHT ROOM Summer Strength & Speed Camp is the camp for anyone looking to get stronger and faster this summer. Participants will train 3 days a week with SLP coaches. Our program is designed for any athlete to improve agility, speed and strength. Coaching Staff includes; John Stewart – SLP Teacher, Head Football Coach & Weight Room Coordinator; Doug Potthoff – SLP Teacher, Football & Track Coach; Sara Hale – SLP Teacher, Cross Country Assistant & Co-Head Track Coach; Daulton Olinger – SLP Teacher, Football & Track Coach. Other SLP coaches will join our staff throughout the summer. Session 1 – 7 am – 8 (Any student grades 9-12) Session 2 – 8 am – 9 (Any student grades 9-12) Session 3 – 9 am – 10 (Any student Gr 9-12) Session 4 – 10 am – 11 (Females 6-12) Session 5 – 11 am – 12 (any student grades 6-8) No Camp July 1-4
  • Student Parking Permit

    All students must register their vehicle through ONLINE registration to park in the SLPHS student parking lot. All students parking in the lot must have a valid Annual 2022 - 2023 or current Trimester Parking Permit. Permits may be picked up in the main office of SLPHS on/after Monday, Aug 15 between 8:00 am - 3:00 pm Bring a copy of your receipt via paper or smart device. Permits must be placed in the lower left (driver side) windshield of the vehicle. Permit must be easily seen from outside the vehicle. PSEO and OEC students who attend class on-site for 3 hours or less can pay a reduced fee - verification documentation will need to be provided when picking up permit.
  • Summer Bird Walk-Coon Rapids Dam

    It may still feel like summer to us, but bird migration is already underway for some species. At the same time, nesting birds are still mostly present, meaning we could see a wide variety of species. Nearly 100 species are on record at this location for the month of August, and we'll try spotting as many as we can as we explore the riverfront and the forest. Expect to walk a couple miles. Bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray if you choose. Program is led by Naturalist Kyle Te Poel. Children age 10 and older may also register for this program if they attending with a registered parent/adult.

    Join Naturalist Kyle Te Poel for a morning walk in this creekside woodland. Even in the heart of the city, many species of birds spend their summer nesting here! We'll not only identify the birds themselves, but listen for their songs, watch for nesting behavior, and perhaps even see some juvenile birds fresh from the nest. Bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray if you choose. Children age 10 and older may also register for this program if they attending with a registered parent/adult.
