  • Tennis Camps 2024 - Youth

    HS Drill and Matches - Gr 9-12 For high school boys and girls players. Players will be separated by skill level. Each training day will be dedicated to specific aspects of the game, including serve, volley, ground strokes and overheads. Match play will be included each week and also include games. An energetic contemporary music set will be played in the background each day. The court dimensions are smaller, racquet shorter, nets lower and lower compression balls (red balls) are used. NO MAKEUP'S DUE TO WEATHER! Each participant is required to provide their own racquet (23-25 inch)
  • Volleyball - Girls Camp 2024

    Grades 3-6: This camp is designed to teach young players the basic skills used in volleyball. We will cover all the primary skills and put the players in playing situations so that they can use the skills they are learning. They will get lots of reps and will have fun as they learn skills and play together! Players should wear a t-shirt, spandex or loose shorts, knee pads, volleyball shoes or other athletic shoes and bring a water bottle. Grades 7-12: This camp is designed to be a high rep and fast paced camp! It is for players going into grades 7-12 who have beginner or advanced volleyball skills and knowledge. We will focus on the development of all volleyball skills throughout the week. Players will also get an opportunity to work on a specific position that they are interested in focusing on. Along with skill work, the players will get lots of playing opportunities each day that will prepare them for fall season! Players should wear a t-shirt, spandex, knee pads, volleyball shoes and bring a water bottle.
  • Theater Summer Camp 2024

    We are thrilled to offer our students the opportunity to work with some of the finest teaching artists in the Twin Cities! Our program combines acting, singing and movement to establish and hone the building blocks of performing, foster creativity and nurture self-esteem. Through positive and imaginative class experience, our performers will develop confidence in all of these areas, strengthen their skills and have lots of fun! This camp is open to all skill levels - no prior experience in performance required, just a desire to have fun and work with others to create some fantastic memories!
  • Track Camp Gr 1-8

    Youth Track Club will introduce your athlete to the world of Track and Field Come to as many practices as you can – work on your speed and conditioning for other sports as well! Event training includes: Sprints, Jumps, Throws, Hurdles and Relays. Program Features: Break into age groups to allow for more age appropriate instruction and coaching In-house meet on the last night - Aug 1 Info will be given about optional youth meets through USA Track and Field MN in either Woodbury or St. Louis Park during the summer This is a program for new to track. Athletes who compete with the high school team (JV or Varsity) should enroll in summer strength and speed Instructors: SLPHS Track Head Coaches plus Varsity Track athletes/student coaches.
  • Competitive Speech Camp Gr 7-12

    Public speaking is one of the top skills that employers look for, yet it is one of the most dreaded parts of required curriculum. But it doesn't have to be! Students who attend this camp will engage in activities that allow them to bulid confidence while simultaneously harnessing the strengths and interests they already have to hone their skills as a public speaker. Current members of the Spring Lake Park Speech Team and head coach Shannah Anderson will co-lead this four-day program where we will focus on effective speaking techniques as well as strengthening leadership skills. Participants will explore the 13 categories of MSHSL Speech (Creative Expression, Discussion, Duo Interpretation, Extemporaneous Reading, Extemporaneous Speaking, Great Speeches, Humorous Interpretation, Informative Speaking, Original Oratory, Serious Drama Interpretation, Serious Poetry Interpretation, Serious Prose Interpretation and Storytelling). Students will select a piece and focus on effective vocal tone, facial expression, and bodily gestures (blocking) and work towards a mini-showcase on Day 4.
  • Football Mini-Camp Gr 9-12

    Mini Camp is the Football Camp for all players planning to be in our High School Football Program in the fall of 2024. Participants will work with SLP Coaches on Fundamentals, Techniques and Schemes. Players must also register for Panther Strength and Speed Camp. The Mini Camp Schedule is subject to change, there is the possibility of a joint practice or two. Details will be communicated ASAP if changes are necessary.
  • Strength and Speed Camp Gr 6-12

    Panther Strength & Speed Camp PANTHER WEIGHT ROOM Summer Strength & Speed Camp is the camp for anyone looking to get stronger and faster this summer. Participants will train 3 days a week with SLP coaches. Our program is designed for any athlete to improve agility, speed and strength. Coaching Staff includes; John Stewart – SLP Teacher, Head Football Coach & Weight Room Coordinator; Doug Potthoff – SLP Teacher, Football & Track Coach; Sara Hale – SLP Teacher, Cross Country Assistant & Co-Head Track Coach; Daulton Olinger – SLP Teacher, Football & Track Coach. Other SLP coaches will join our staff throughout the summer. Session 1 – 7 am – 8 (Any student grades 9-12) Session 2 – 8 am – 9 (Any student grades 9-12) Session 3 – 9 am – 10 (Any student Gr 9-12) Session 4 – 10 am – 11 (Females 6-12) Session 5 – 11 am – 12 (any student grades 6-8) No Camp July 1-4
  • Football Youth Camp Gr k-8 2024

    The Panther Football Youth Camp is a partnership between Spring Lake Park Community Education and Spring Lake Park Youth Football to offer a FREE three-day non-contact camp with instruction in all phases of football. Offensive and defensive instruction will include technique play for interior linemen, linebackers, offensive backs, and defensive backs. A specialty unit with emphasis on the kicking game will also be highlighted. The main emphasis of the camp is to learn football technique, make new friends, and have fun! June 27 - Alumni Night - Learn from former Panthers with college/pro experience plus SLPHS Football Staff July 30-31 - Led by SLPHS Football staff plus HS players
  • Yoga Camp with Move and Learn

    Ages 4-5 In our Animal Summer Yoga Camp for four and five year olds, children will embark on an exciting journey into the world of yoga through the lens of animals. This engaging and interactive camp is designed to introduce young yogis to mindfulness, movement, and creativity in a fun and playful environment. Throughout the camp, children will discover various animal-inspired yoga poses, allowing them to embody the characteristics and movements of their favorite creatures. From downward dog to cobra pose, each yoga session will be filled with imagination and exploration as children mimic the grace and strength of different animals. In addition to yoga poses, our camp curriculum includes age-appropriate breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness activities tailored to capture the attention and curiosity of young minds. Parerts should plan of staying for the duration of the class. Grades 1-4 Welcome to our Summer Yoga Camp tailored specifically for elementary school students! This dynamic camp offers a perfect blend of movement, mindfulness, and creativity, providing children with a unique and enjoyable way to stay active and engaged during the summer months. Throughout the camp, students will explore a variety of yoga poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques designed to enhance their physical strength, flexibility, and emotional well-being. Our experienced instructors create a supportive and inclusive environment where children of all abilities can thrive and feel empowered. In addition to yoga sessions, campers will enjoy interactive games, themed activities, and opportunities for creative expression, fostering a sense of connection and camaraderie among peers. Mats will be provided. Participants should wear clothes to move in and a water bottle.

    What is Leadership Camp? Leadership camp is an intensive, four-day experience that will change how you view your role in our school and community.     College Application bootcamp is for all seniors who plan to attend a tech school, 2-year or 4-year college after high school graduation. This camp is for all seniors but directed to those who have questions about applying to college and would like one-on-one help from counselors and other admissions professionals. Topics that will be covered during camp include: Finding the Right Fit Building your College List Getting Organized Naviance - why and how? Career Exploration Common app vs. College specific app Financial Aid and Scholarships Writing your college essay & personal statement Application fees Plus MUCH MORE! Also included for students: Camp is FREE to all SLP seniors, registration is to save your spot and ensure the appropriate number of staff are present to provide you the help you need.   • Dance Team Summer Camps 2024 Gr 7-12

    SLPDT Summer Camps: JFK Dance Camp Prep - This workshop is intended for any SLP dance team member planning to attend this year's JFK dance camp. This workshop will go through technique, learn a home show routine, and create team cheers that will be used at camp. Dance Intensive Camps - This dance workshop is intended for any dancer (going into 7th grade thru 12th grade). The dancers will focus on dance technique and skills, team workouts, and learn various combinations and short routines.
  • Swim Camp - Conditioning and Drills Gr 7-12

    Summer Conditioning and Drills - For students entering grades 7-12 in fall 2024 Athletes will participate in conditioning and stroke drills. There will be a focus on conditioning on Mondays and Wednesdays, and athletes will spend practice doing various sets that will help with their overall conditioning. Tuesday and Thursday practices will focus more on drills, and athletes will spend the time learning the proper techniques for stroke mechanics, starts and turns for all four strokes. Coached by SLPHS swim team coaches Greg Kugler and Bethany Dickert. No practice the week of July 4. No camp June 19. Intro to Swim Team Camp - For students entering grades 7-9 in fall 2024 One week of camp for athletes interested in seeing what Swim Team is all about. Athletes will be a part of the regular camp, but only committed for the first week.     SAHR Sports is known for its commitment to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and skill development in a fun and engaging manner. We believe that their expertise will greatly enhance the overall sports experience for our students.   • Pet Shop Art with Kidcreate Studio Gr 1-5

    Every kid dreams of owning a hamster or a dog or maybe a kitty! In this critter-filled camp, their dream will come true . . . sort of! The kids will create pets galore! At this camp we will work with clay, paint and draw too! No trips to the pet store are required! Please pack a nut free snack and drink for your child each day.
  • Basketball - Girls Summer Skills Academy 2024

    Players will work on offensive and defensive skills, learn concepts that will help them in game situations, improve communication, and boosttoughness. They will play 1-on-1, 2-on-2, 3-on-3, 4-on-4, and 5-on-5 as well as run fastbreak drills, defensive drills, and play shooting games. Upper camp participants will work with trainers from N1 Motion to improve speed, lateral quickness, and vertical leaping abilities. The Skills Academy will be fast-paced, competitive, instructional, and fun. The staff will consist of coaches on the high school staff as well as current players and alumni.
  • Project Runway with Youth Enrichment League Gr 4-8

    Join this class where students learn to design, measure, cut, sew, modify, make and take home their very own sewing projects. No experience necessary. All students make their own projects lead by a qualified sewing instructor. Students will learn hand-sewing and machine-sewing techniques during this summer day camp.
  • 3D Printing: Pokemon with Tech Academy Gr 2-5

    Design your own 3D pocket monster using TinkerCAD. Create your own Pokémon-inspired 3D designs and experiment with TinkerCAD’s SimLab. This course will give students an introduction to using CAD modeling & design software. Student designed Pokémon will be printed and sent home at the end of class. Printing and material fees are included. If your child attends Summertrek the same week as camp, they will qualify for a discount for each day they are registered for both, which will be applied at the end of the week once attendance is confirmed. Please also inform Summertrek staff if your child is attending camp.

  • Spanish Immersion Summer Academy- Grades 1-6

    Students will practice their Spanish language skills through a variety of activities including: arts, STEM, sports, cultural, music, games, etc. This summer academy will be led by SLP Woodcrest Spanish Immersion teachers.This academy is intended for students who are currently enrolled in the SLP Spanish Immersion program and want a chance to practice and maintain their language skills over the summer. Camp will run from 8:00am-12:00pm Monday through Friday at Woodcrest Elementary. Students may sign up for either or both weeks of academy. Please make sure to register for each week separately if you would like to sign your child up for both weeks. Note for Learning Ventures Families:If your student is also in Learning Ventures the week of Spanish Immersion Summer Academy, we can shuttle students back to the High School for P.M. Learning Ventures care. You will receive a partial credit back on your Learning Ventures account for days that your child is enrolled in both Spanish Camp and Learning Ventures. Please indicate in the registration form whether or not your child needs to be transported to the High School for P.M. Learning Ventures.
  • STEM Workshops with STEM Builders Gr 1-8

    Drones July 8-12 - 1-3 pm - Grades 5-8 - Droneblocks allows students to watch their code come to life as they program their own drone! Students learn how to control their drones through code to perform a series of stunts. Students fly drones in both virtual and live. Students master skills with their own challenges which will include aerial stunts and a student made obstacle course. LEGO Robotics - First LEGO League - Aug 12-16 - 1-3 pm Grades 5-8 First Lego League is for students grades 5-8th who engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering - building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. This camp will prepare new and returning participants to build a robot, and compete in an exciting, mission-based robotics game.
