  • Build-a-Bird Feeder Parent/Child Workshop

SLP Community Education is partnering with non-profit Elpis Enterprises to offer an adult/child DIY build-a-bird feeder workshop! This program is designed to help children (and their adults!) learn woodworking and tool-use skills to enhance their backyards for the birds! Both registered child and their adult will make a small bird feeder, complete with a bag of black oil sunflower seeds, that will be ready to be put up in a tree right after the workshop. 100% of the cedar wood used in the kits has been recycled from either a fence tear-out or a cut-off from a new fence project that was slated to go to a landfill. Registration fee for this program is for 1 adult and 1 child. Program is geared for children ages 3 and up. All children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Please register the adult who will be attending, name and age of the child will be asked later in the registration process. About Elpis Enterprises: Elpis Enterprises is a Saint Paul-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides job training, work experience and employment assistance for young people between ages 16 and 23 years of age who are experiencing homelessness.
