    Learn the basics of identifying and appraising antiques, art, jewelry, coins, and collectibles. Get tips on what makes things valuable and the best ways to sell them. Examine things like lithophane, trench art, U.S. Zone china, a U.S. 3 cent nickel, precious gemstones, mourning jewelry & German silver. No pictures or books in this class, everything is “hands on." Bring one item, no larger than a shoe box to the first class. You will then research its value on your own with the research tools you've been given, then compare your results with the appraiser's at the second class. Bring a magnifying glass if you have one. Instructor David Schlueter is a Certified Antique Appraiser.

    If you are new to fantasy football, this is the class for you! Participants will learn how to draft players, understand important terms and abbreviations needed to succeed in fantasy football, be provided tools (websites) that make it fun and easy compete week to week, and how to begin a league. By the end of the class, participants will have a fundamental understanding all offensive positions groups that make up the scoring in fantasy football. Participants will also participate in a mock fantasy football draft. Other topics covered include: scoring in fantasy football, the waiver wire, the importance of bye weeks, trades, different kinds of fantasy football leagues, different drafting options, and having fun!!! All participants will walk away from the class with a packet of everything that was discussed, online tools to be successful with fantasy football, as well as instructor contact info for any questions that come up after the class. Participants will realize and understand how simple and fun fantasy football can be!

    Experience an ancient wellness practice being rediscovered anew in the 21st century. Join our 2-hour immersive, meditative, and therapeutic forest bathing walk. We will slow down and connect with our senses to the healing, stress-reducing beauty of a little-known hidden corner of the Twin Cities. We will slip away from our phones and revive our relationship with the forest and ourselves via unique invitations that prompt participants to experience the forest in distinct ways. We will share what we notice with each other, incorporating our experiences into our memory to tap again when we may need them. We will re-enter the tame world, renewed and refreshed. Walk will be held in the rain and snow, but not thunderstorms or negative temperatures. Please wear/bring mosquito/tick repellent and sunscreen if desired. Please bring water if you would like to have some available throughout the walk. DAY OF WALK: Please arrive at walk location 15 minutes prior to walk to allow for check in and walk overview. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated due to the immersive nature of the program. All guests must sign Motz Studios waiver prior to walk.   • Summer Bird Walk-Coon Rapids Dam

    It may still feel like summer to us, but bird migration is already underway for some species. At the same time, nesting birds are still mostly present, meaning we could see a wide variety of species. Nearly 100 species are on record at this location for the month of August, and we'll try spotting as many as we can as we explore the riverfront and the forest. Expect to walk a couple miles. Bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray if you choose. Program is led by Naturalist Kyle Te Poel. Children age 10 and older may also register for this program if they attending with a registered parent/adult.
